The North Carolina CCIM Chapter is launching its inaugural NC CCIM Collegiate Commercial Real Estate Competition, giving students the opportunity to move beyond the classroom and gain hands-on experience in the world of commercial real estate investing.

Student teams will step into the role of a CRE investment firm, analyzing a commercial property or portfolio, conducting market research, developing an underwriting and financial model, evaluating investment strategies and presenting their recommendations to a panel of experienced commercial real estate professionals and industry experts.

The competition is designed for students interested in real estate, finance, economics, MBA programs and related fields, as well as those pursuing careers in commercial real estate investment, development, brokerage or asset management. Through the experience, participants will build practical skills in financial analysis, market research, underwriting and asset management while strengthening their teamwork, critical thinking and professional presentation skills.

The competition will culminate in final presentations on November 12, 2026, at the Co-Lab at UNC Charlotte Center City. The registration deadline is August 7, 2026, and participation is free.
