7-Hour National USPAP 2022-2023 Update Course (Virtual)

This 7-hour update course, copyrighted by The Appraisal Foundation, focuses on recent changes to USPAP requirements for ethical behavior and competent performance by appraisers. The course, which clarifies several commonly misunderstood aspects of USPAP, will aid participants in all areas of appraisal practice seeking updated competency in USPAP, including those subject to state licensing or certification and continuing education requirements imposed by professional organizations, client groups, or employers.

NOTE. Appraisers must successfully complete the 7-Hour National USPAP Update Course every 2 years to meet the USPAP continuing education requirement.

REQUIRED CLASS MATERIALS:

  • The new course requires each student to have a copy of the 2020-2021 USPAP book, the Course Handbook & the Reference Manual. 
  • Students are responsible for obtaining these materials. These materials can either be in print or digital. 

PHOTO ID REQUIREDStudents will need to send a photo (ex: driver license photo) to [email protected] after registering. Our instructor will be verifying the photo identification of students during roll call at the beginning and throughout the class. This is a requirement, and you will not receive credit if we do not have a photo to verify your identification with.

VIDEO/AUDIO REQUIREDOur instructor must be able to see/hear you and you must be able to see/hear the instructor. Zoom Meeting allows student/instructor interaction through video/audio and the chat function. This is a requirement, and you will not receive credit if you do not have video/audio capabilities to see/hear the instructor/allow the instructor to see/hear you.

CE Credit Approval: NC Appraisal Board Approved for 7 Hours 

*Students seeking CE credit for this course from a state other than North Carolina are responsible for confirming with that state’s licensing board that this course will be accepted. The North Carolina Chapter recommends students check before registering* 

 

About the Instructor: Joyce Pusey, SRA, AI-RRS

Joyce Pusey has been a member of the Appraisal Institute since 1991., when she obtained the SRA designation. Prior to that she had been an affiliate member of the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers as an RM candidate. She also earned the AI-RRS designation in 2014. Joyce and owned and operated her appraisal office (Pusey & Associates Inc) for over 20 years and has also been an instructor for the NC Real Estate Commission (broker classes) from 1984-2015. She has been an instructor for real estate appraisal classes since 1990, when licensure began in North Carolina. These include the pre-licensing classes, continuing education, and of course, USPAP! While cutting back on day-to-day real estate appraisal assignments, Joyce is continuing to focus on real estate appraisal review assignments, consulting, and teaching. Joyce lives in Kernersville, NC, is widowed, and has 3 grandchildren which are, of course, absolutely adorable! She enjoys horseback riding, traveling, and reading.
