Job Title: Commercial Real Estate Appraiser
Organization: Shackelford & Associates
Location(s): Greenville, Raleigh, or New Bern, North Carolina
Job Description: Shackelford & Associates is seeking an experienced commercial real estate appraiser to join our established appraisal firm, with offices in Greenville, Raleigh, and New Bern, North Carolina. Our firm provides appraisal and consulting services for a broad range of commercial property types and assignments. We offer a collaborative professional environment where appraisers can work alongside MAI designated professionals, consult with experienced colleagues on complex assignments, and continue developing their valuation expertise. This opportunity is particularly well suited for an appraiser who enjoys the valuation process but prefers to focus on appraisal work rather than the administrative responsibilities of operating an independent business. Our firm provides client relationships, marketing, billing, collections, and administrative support, allowing appraisers to concentrate on completing assignments. We encourage professional development and provide support for appraisers pursuing the MAI designation or working toward a Certified General credential. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with the flexibility to work from home and one of our three offices.
Requirements: Candidates must have experience in commercial real estate appraisal, including market research, comparable analysis, application of valuation methodologies, and appraisal report preparation. We place greater emphasis on relevant commercial appraisal experience and demonstrated ability than on credential level. Registered Trainees and Certified Residential Appraisers with commercial appraisal experience are encouraged to apply, as are Certified General Appraisers. Applicants should possess strong analytical, research, and written communication skills, demonstrate attention to detail, and be capable of managing appraisal assignments efficiently.
Salary/Benefits: Independent contractor position with highly competitive fee-split compensation based on experience and qualifications.
How to Apply: Interested candidates should email a resume to [email protected].
