Update from NCAI President, Chris Johnson, MAI, SRA, AI-GRS, ASA

Over the past few weeks, we’ve all had to think on our feet and come up with creative solutions to address both the day-to-day and the long-term impacts of COVID-19. I’m proud to say the NCAI board and chapter members have done a great job of doing just that.

There’s lots of news this month but I especially want to point to how well the use of online gathering technology has been received. I’m excited at its effectiveness and what that can mean going forward. Thank you all for taking part! Both USPAPs, held in April, had great turnouts (over 100 students between the two courses!), and the launch of NCAI Connect Webinar Series was such a huge success that we’re committed to making it a monthly event, even after things go “back to normal.”

It’s important to note that two of our first three guest speakers were chosen at the request of our members, and the feedback has been terrific. I look forward to receiving more requests from you as we assign speakers for the next few months. As a chapter, we exist for the benefit of the membership, and we encourage your individual input so that we fully understand the unique challenges that each of you faces, and how we can best address them. So please, let me know who you’d like to hear from, and we’ll do our best to add them to our speakers list.

Please be assured that we continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation, especially the daily updates from health professionals and community leaders. We are also in regular communication with other chapters and with AI national. We are ready to respond promptly and appropriately as this situation continues to develop and evolve.

Thank you all for your patience and support, I can’t tell you how much lighter it makes the task!
